Summary of Experience

Dr. Zhang specializes in the application of econometrics and statistical methods to complex litigation matters in the areas of false advertising, commercial disputes, high-tech manufacturing, ERISA, class certification, intellectual property, and damages. Her case work has included investment portfolio valuation and risk analysis; evaluation of mutual fund fees; assessment of investment suitability; estimation of damages in finance cases, surveys, and experimental studies; and using conjoint analysis to measure the value of product features. Dr. Zhang has evaluated plaintiffs’ damages claims in wrongful foreclosure class actions, assessed clinical performance data involving a medical device, analyzed clinical trial data regarding the side effects of a drug, analyzed the competitive effects of a merger in the chemical industry, estimated damages from breach of contract, analyzed large music databases in copyright dispute cases, estimated damages from a product recall in the automotive industry, and performed valuation using a hedonic pricing model. Prior to joining Analysis Group, she was a teaching assistant in microeconomics, econometrics, and labor economics at The University of British Columbia, and was a research intern at Statistics Canada. Dr. Zhang’s research on labor market issues among the immigrant population in Canada has been presented at various professional academic venues, and she has served as a reviewer for the Canadian Journal of Economics.
